Install your eSIM with confidence

Follow this guided checklist from device prep to activation. Figabytes eSIMs stay ready in your account, so you can install today and switch them on the moment you land.

Most unlocked phones from 2018 onward support eSIM. Run these pre-checks now so activation is stress-free when you land.

Make sure your device is unlocked and supports eSIM (iPhone XR/XS or newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 or newer, Google Pixel 4 or newer, and most recent flagships).
Stay connected to Wi-Fi during installation so the eSIM profile downloads instantly.

iPhone & iPad

Settings → General → About. Under "Digital SIM," confirm an EID is listed.

Android

Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs (or Connections). Look for "Add eSIM" or "Download a SIM instead."

Load the eSIM onto your phone
Visit the My eSIM section of your account to find the plan you purchased. Follow the prompts to view your QR code or installation options.
- Scan the QR code from your My eSIM dashboard. If scanning isn't available, click the direct install link or do a manual installation with the details provided.
- Keep the device still for a few seconds (up to a minute) while the profile downloads. Make sure not to interrupt the process.
iPhone
Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. When prompted for a default line, keep your primary line for calls and Figabytes for data.
Android
Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → "Download a SIM instead." Use the camera to scan or choose manual entry.

Switch on data when you arrive
With the profile installed, you just need to enable it at your destination. Data-only eSIMs won't affect your home number.
- Rename the line to something memorable (e.g., "Figabytes Data") so you can toggle it quickly.
- Set the eSIM as your default for cellular data and leave your primary line for voice and SMS.
- Toggle Data Roaming on for the Figabytes line once you reach your destination.
- Open a browser or maps app to confirm you're online; activation usually takes under a minute.
- If you have issues, toggle Airplane Mode on and off to reset connections, or restart your phone.
